Thematic Handouts Teaching Materials Based on Picture Stories Improving Reading Interest and Learning Outcomes of Fourth Grade Elementary School Students

Students' interest in reading is still low and there a lack of teaching materials that can increase student learning outcomes, especially when online. This study aims to produce product the form thematic handout based on picture stories 8 sub-theme 3 themes for fourth-grade elementary school. research development using Borg Gall model. The trial subjects this were 36 students class IV. data collection method used questionnaire obtain validity practicality as well outcomes tests effectiveness. Data instruments consisted content/material expert instruments, media design practitioner sheets, response questionnaires, tests. analysis quantitative qualitative. results showed through experts, experts was stated be very good feasible use. handouts illustrated by teachers are 100% 91.3% with practical categories. effectiveness test obtained an average result 0.76 0.72 high category. So, it concluded suitable use process.
